The amazing woman - Oh Siew May

The talk by our VP - Mdm Shanti.

This is the person who is invited for the talk tomorrow for the A.M. assembly. Oh Siew May.

Scaling Walls is the book she has written --  She has cerebral palsy. Life has thrown her with many challenges, and yet, she has never give up.
Her facebook account is here.

One thing I have learnt from the talk yesterday is "our life is like a mountain. some days can be tougher, some days can be easier. all we need to do is keep moving no matter what happens, and one day, we will make it to our destination. one must have a dream to keep going"

Without dreams, life is meaningless.

Do read more about her if you have the time.

Cheers,
Mdm Chan

Comments on the Composition

Dear all,

Please note that the present tense, past tense and the participle has been given out.
Soft copy:  http://www.englishforeveryone.org/PDFs/irregular%20verbs%20chart%20-%20%20alphabetical%20order.pdf

Spelling on the past tense will be given out on selected words.

Composition:
10 marks is allocated for composition in the final year examination. In an effort to boost the proficiency level of writing in the class, class writing is given out every week.

4 marks on language component and 6 marks for content.

Things to note:
1) Write based on the picture. There are some who have missed out key points and they are penalised on the content.
2) Tenses should be in the past, unless it is referring to the future or the present.
3) A minimum of 3 paragraphs is required.
4) Handwriting should be neat and legible.

Feedback on the English Unit Review:
1) Synthesis - And, But, Because. These can be quite difficult for some. We will need to work on these areas.
2) Simple past and present tense.
To sing (and no other forms such as sang, sings, singing)
She sings everyday.
Last night, she sang.
There are still some who are grappling with the above sentences.  Please revise on this. This is very important for English.

Regards,
Mdm Chan

PS: Next week is the Maths test for Multiplying and Dividing by 4, 5 and 10.
Please prepare.
